LOCATIONS

The film “Worlds Apart” was shot exclusively in Greece, in three very unique locations.

The Greek National Library retains the biggest part of the country`s cultural and historical heritage; a one of a kind intellectual wealth, which reflects the path of Greek ideas and critical thinking. Sebastian`s character (J.K. Simmons) is based in this space and travels us through it during the film.

In one of the most beautiful locations of Messinia, Greece, lies the beach of Voidokilia, which serves as the backdrop in the love story between the two youths: Daphne and Farris. 

Plaka is one of the most ancient and historical Athenian neighborhoods. An area of distinct beauty. Plaka is the magical setting where Elise and Yorgos` story unfolds. “Another World” in the heart of modern day Athens.

The Greek National Library withholds vast intellectual wealth, where the path of Greek ideas and critical thinking are reflected.

A grandiose building in the center of Athens, the National Library is the mecca that preserves and makes Greek culture, science and knowledge available to the world.

The National Library of Greece is where we find JK Simmon’s character, Sebastian, a German expatriate who has moved to Greece and is a historian for the Library. In the Library, Sebastian finds himself. It’s where his entire intellectual and spiritual world can be found, the place where he finds all the values and knowledge his character delegates. Sebastian guides us through this temple of knowledge during the film and that’s how his own “World Apart” is created.

VOIDOKILIA

The wide beach of Voidokilia is of immense natural beauty. It is consisted of fine sand which hides endless sea shells and it is a protected zone of Natura 2000. That way, this wonderful oasis remains uncorrupted.

The beach of Voidokilia is one of the most beautiful locations in Messinia, the Southern part of Greece, and it is the magical setting where the love story between the two teens, Daphne and Farris, unfolds.

Under the shadow of the Holy Rock of Acropolis, in the center of Athens, lies one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city. Plaka can only be reached on foot and has retained its romantic and unique ambience till this day.

The neighborhood of Plaka, is one of the most ancient and historical areas in central Athens. One of incomparable beauty, which makes up the enchanting setting where the story of Elise and Giorgos takes place. Another “World Apart” in the heart of modern day Athens.
